Agile experience preferred Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for Full Motion Video (FMV) Chief Engineer. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership for a real world, real-time, FMV analysis and archiving system. The work focuses primarily on understanding the technical capabilities of the system, providing innovative solutions, interfacing with the development team, recommending changes based on new technology and new interfacing systems. The selected candidate additionally interfaces with contractors, operational users and customer management to resolve current problems as well as providing insight and guidance for innovative technical ideas and solutions. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Works collaboratively with the FMV program leadership team Possesses leadership abilities in managing a large team of system, software and test engineers across geographical dispersed locations Is a champion for new and innovative technical solutions Forward looking and focused on keeping our products and offering ahead of the competition Ability to interact with business development leadership to work with new and changing requirements, concepts and ideas Customer interaction skills focusing on current and future FMV needs along with the ability to clearly present those innovative ideas to the development team Background in or familiar with FMV solutions and technologies to include: Knowledge of the motion video exploitation life-cycle and various imagery systems Understanding of video encoding technology to include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264 and.H.265 formats Understanding of metadata formats leveraged by still and motion imagery data sensors Experience managing large scale storage solution to include library based solutions used to archive video content Ability to support software developed on MS Windows 7, MS Windows 10 and MS Windows Server 2008 through 2016 Lead and support technical meetings and discussions concerning our FMV products Report information through weekly meetings, weekly status reports, and others communications channels to our team members and GDMS management Demonstrate good communications and leadership skills by having a strong grasp of FMV topics along with the ability to clearly communicate those ideas, issues and concerns Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements Provides leadership and/or direction to lower level employees Travel will be required KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experienced with current Agile programs and practices SaFe 4.0 Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to get buy-in on concepts and ideas Creative thinker Ability to multi-task Effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions Excellent ability to clearly report information relevant to sound systems engineering design Excellent understanding of basic project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
