Help us to build a better planet. We are looking for a Civil Engineer, Geologist, Scientist, or Engineering Technician with 2-3 years of experience in our Fargo, ND office. This position will be directly supervised by a Licensed Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications, assist with preparation of construction plans and specifications, perform construction observations, document observations with field notes, work as part of a team ensuring project and field objectives are met, and exhibit positive client/public relations in the office and in the field. Responsibilities: Assist with developing plan sets and specifications for civil earthwork and piping design projects Perform construction observations (out of town/state travel will occasionally be required) Document construction activities, progress, correspondence Perform field measurements Collect soil and groundwater samples; perform field screening as applicable Interpret construction plans and specifications Assist with field related survey tasks to obtain boundary, topography, GIS data collection, geodetic control, etc. Provide construction staking information from plans to survey team Communicate with project team and stakeholders, verbal and written Prepare plans sets and record drawings in Autodesk Civil 3D Prepare technical documents using MS Word, and Excel Perform stormwater modeling for civil design projects using HydroCAD software Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as a team member Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field of study; or a 2-year degree and experience as an Engineering Technician Excellent computer and technical skills, including Autodesk Civil 3D Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, to accommodate schedules Ability to travel to other offices and project sites, including extended overnight stays out of town or out of state, when needed Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time Experience with nuclear density gauges is preferable Hard working and enjoys learning Salary: Commensurate with education, training, and experience.
