Lead Enterprise Storage Engineer Job ID: 48405 Department: Enterprise Storage City: Richfield, MN Location: HP - Richfield 7601 Penn Ave Bldg Position Type: Full-Time Anticipated Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, typical business hours with on-call responsibilities Hrs/Pay Period: 80 Job Description: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Enterprise Storage Engineer. This position is for a storage and Storage Area Network subject matter expert. The person in this position will design and oversee the SAN and storage architecture; providing consultation and recommendations for shifts in business and capacity requirements. This position monitors utilization reports and forecasts storage and utilization growth. An Enterprise Storage Engineer provides recommendations towards infrastructure strategy; aligning SAN and storage standards and processes to the services, policies, goals, and vision of HealthPartners' IS&T. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Designs, manages, troubleshoots, monitors and maintains the integrity of the Storage Area Network and Storage Solutions. Designs, documents, and oversees system and SAN recoverability and SAN architecture. Documents and maintains the architecture; ensuring alignment with enterprise storage strategies. Defines standards and infrastructure requirements for the SAN and storage infrastructure. Manages and maintains disaster recovery documentation; ensuring that the appropriate hardware and software needs are documented and available in the event of a disaster. Creates utilization reports, presentations, and projections regarding storage and utilization growth. Oversees disk space planning and management. Integrates system and application requirements to the SAN architecture. Collaborates on initiatives; mentoring team members and other groups within HealthPartners' IS&T. Coordinates project deliverables within the SAN team; participating on projects. Provides strategic recommendations regarding the infrastructure of enterprise storage solutions and integration of those solutions. Coordinates changes for the team; providing subject matter expertise to the Change Board. Coordinates planning, installation, support and maintenance of the backup environment. Develops standards for enterprise storage solutions and participates within IS&T's Architectural Review Board when necessary. Mentors team members, broadening the team's skill sets and knowledge base. May supervise staff workflow and deliverables in the absence of the Storage Enterprise Manager. Maintains awareness of the latest developments in key areas of responsibility and brings forward opportunities that may benefit HealthPartners. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Proficient knowledge and experience with file systems, disk partitioning, quotas, and data security Strong IP Networking knowledge Broad IT knowledge; specifically within IT infrastructure Expert in storage design; demonstrated storage architecture experience Expert with LUN Masking, applying HyperVolumes, MetaVolumes, zones, and zonesets Proficient with Brocade and Cisco infrastructure, RAID technologies, and Tier 1 storage products Detailed knowledge of NetApp, HP, and HDS storage arrays Advanced understanding of storage and backup architecture Expertise with Commvault Backup processes and procedures Project Management experience 24x7x365 support capacity (rotation) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 4 years BS or BA or equivalent experience 9+ years experience working with SAN technology 3+ years experience within IT infrastructure Brocade or Equivalent Storage Certification HealthPartners is recognized nationally for provid
