Cardiovascular Systems Inc Principal R&D Engineer in St. Paul, Minnesota

Summary: This position is concerned with discovery, invention, design, development, support, and documentation of new innovation technologies for use in these and similar fields. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree and/or 10 years of applicable Product Development Engineering experience in the medical device field 3D CAD software required with SolidWorks experience preferred Materials expert in polymers and micro scale components Ability to use sound engineering judgment and analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis to engineering problems and guide others in the process (DOE, GR&R, etc.) Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Expert in one or more product development disciplines (e.g., machining/injection, molding/extrusions, etc.) Expert in advanced mechanical design, materials, manufacturing methods as well as the ability to apply appropriate methods and techniques is a must Responsibilities: Use CAD environment to create, development, analyze, troubleshoot and document components and assemblies Own the discovery and development of key breakthrough solutions in support of future franchise products Invent new technologies to develop a technology map for long term company success Interface with suppliers focused on multiple disciplines of critical and new components Design and coordinate standard engineering tests and experiments Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to a technical team Work cooperatively with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing Work with manufacturing and process development engineers in developing, troubleshooting, standardizing and improving existing production methods and procedures.
