Solvay Project Engineer in Winona, Minnesota

  • Manage site projects to support maintenance of business involving the facility and manufacturing process equipment

  • Site Lead team member for all Large Capital projects (>$500K) managed by the Business Unit Global Engineering Organization, assuring all site requirements and objectives are achieved

  • Manage site capital projects through such activities as evaluating business cases and justification, writing project descriptions, objectives, safety plans, RFQs, timelines, following defined corporate capital processes

  • Participate in PHA and MHA activities related to projects

  • Process Manage of Change requests to support process, equipment, or facility changes

  • Apply value challenging and value engineering practices to determine the best solution to each problem

  • Apply applicable engineering codes and safety standards for each engineered design to ensure compliance

  • Involvement with strengthening the site Maintenance Management Systems

  • Review and contribute to Contractor Safety Plans

  • Conduct Safety Audits and inspections as needed

  • Manage the updating of facility drawings

  • Provide support as needed to accomplish project goals and avoid operational disruptions

  • Support facility and equipment related failure resolution; determine root cause and provide corrective actions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or an Engineering degree combined with relevant experience

  • Experience in Process Safety Management as it relates to Chemical processing

  • Experience managing equipment and facility capital projects

  • Engineering and Safety codes and standards knowledge

  • Root cause analysis tools

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective interaction with exempt and non-exempt employees

  • Team Oriented; engages with cross-functional team to involve all affected parties

  • Change Management experience
